In many areas, I crave consistency. I like when the subway comes on time and how my hair will be reliably perfect on the third day since my last wash. Sometimes the lighting is dim or the camera lens on my phone is dirty. Other times, I can't convince my face and body to do something sexy at the same time. The result is always a weirdly cropped, uncomfortable-looking photo that I'd rather delete than send to anyone else. And that sort of defeats the purpose of a nude selfie—at least, the ones I'm taking. Instead of continuing to suffer from my chronic inability to take a hot nude, I turned to the experts: three New York City-area boudoir photographers who set, light, and shoot sexy photos as their actual jobs. Then I did an IRL boudoir shoot with one of them.

First, I met with three boudoir photographers to learn the “rules” of boudoir.
2. An R-Rated Body Part… Clothed
Back in the day when you wanted to take hot pictures to send your boyfriend , you had two choices: Polaroids that made every nudie look like a crime scene, or taking your photos to be developed. Luckily, the advent of the camera phone has made sexting a million times easier and hotter. What a time to be alive! A quick reminder before things get steamy: Consent and trust are both crucial for any good sexting session. Make sure you and your partner are both ready and enthusiastic — nothing is worse than a photo accidentally popping up when, say, you happen to be showing your grandma something on your phone. And before things take a really hot and heavy turn, have a conversation to ensure neither of you will share these photos anywhere. Even if you trust your partner fully, it's still a smart idea to keep your face out of the frame and to hide any identifying details like tattoos, piercings, scars, or even something in the background of the photo with your name or address. If you're in the mood to send sexy photos to your partner , but you're lacking inspiration, I got you covered — that is, unless you'd rather go totally bare.
After my initial interviews, I had the chance to model in my very own boudoir shoot.
Nude selfies are a great form of foreplay and can also really put the heat in a long distance relationship. Have you ever been in the situation where you were sexting a guy and all of a sudden he asks for a nude pic? Of course, you have! Inevitably, during the process, you get frustrated snapping selfie after selfie because nothing is coming out in the sexy porn star way that you want. The environment of where you take the photo is super important. For a photo shoot location, try something sexy and simple such as your bed. Or you could try something more adventurous like sitting naked at or on your kitchen table with a can of whipped cream or some chocolate sauce to show him you know how to have fun. Lighting also falls under the category of environment and it is key to a successful nude selfie. The number one rule is to make sure you are comfortable in whatever you decide to pose in.
Dude, you certainly don't represent the majority. Do you even know what testosterone is? You probably like looking at the bra section in the Sears catalog too. I like pictures that show that the person really trusts me. Show me something that you would obviously only do for me. Be nasty, sexy, and suggestive all at the same time.
