Personally I have a rule that I will not enter a relationship with a believing Mormon. I have been married for 2 years now and I'm concerned that if we dont work something out soon, it will only get worse as he dives into his profession even further. That being sais, just be honest. In my experience, life-long member, many Mormons have difficulty thinking outside the box, and putting forth effort to inclue and love. I can totally understand. I find there are less disappointments when I know I am completely on my own.
Anyway, before you marry you should work out anything hypothetical that might come up in the future. I believe rules are to be obeyed. One big question is, does he make you a priority when he has the time to be able to make something other than work a priority. If you talk to him about it, and he cares about your relationship enough, the two of you will probably be able to find something that works for both of you. Should we try to heed their counsel and marry in the Church. No nagging, no emotional neediness, etc. That being sais, just be honest. And it was the most miserable and lousy choice I ever made. I respect what my husband does but I have nothing but my pets and a dusty Ivy Leaguedegree.
